nvidia optimus notebook report
my notebook is a samsung rf 511, it has nvidia optimus and ubuntu
natty is not working with proprietary drivers, it just works using the
intel card, and the dedicated nvidia 540m is just sitting there...
here are my specs, hope they can be useful to try and get optimus
usable also on linux, waiting for any news also fron nvidia itself:
1) sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name:
RF511/RF411/RF711
2) sudo dmidecode -s system-version:
09HX
3) lspci -vnnn | perl -lne 'print if /^\d+\:.+(\[\S+\:\S+\])/' | grep VGA:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 2nd
Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller
[8086:0116] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
4) on lspci i get also:
01:00.0 3D controller: nVidia Corporation Device 0df4 (rev a1)
cheers,
Nicola
