Re: Mac Book Pro 6, 2 and Ubuntu 12.04 not working as expected

Hi,

Which kernel version are you running, which which patches?

There are no usable VBIOS tables for the MBP 6,2, so you need to use this patch set: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2012-September/027528.html to switch the ddc lines during detection.

Cheers,
Andreas

I think this is the revelant information on dmesg about i915 not recognising LVDS modes and VBIOS tables not being found.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Thank you.

I've already participated in this list:

What I wanted to do is to be able to use my integrated Intel graphics
card in my Debian Unstable at the same time that I turned off the
Nvidia (discrete) one.
I think I have managed to use the intel one although I'm not very sure
if I have managed to turn off the discrete one because battery life
only increased from 2h to 2h30m.

Whatever, what I want to achieve right now is the same level of
functionality as the one described here:
http://linux-hybrid-graphics.blogspot.com.es/2012/04/apple-macbook-pro-and-linux-hybrid_21.html
and in more detail:
