Re: [Bug 1130850] Re: updated kernel kills backlight on laptop
After fixing the problem by moving back to the older kernel,
the backlight died permanently. This made me think that it
might not have been the kernel in the first place and that my
backlight was simply near death. I replaced the whole
display panel and moved on to the next release of Ubuntu. I
am current with updates (kernels and all) and have no
problems to report.
