Re: [Bug 1513930] Re: linux-firmware breaks support for Lenovo Z580

Firmware doesn't include the firmware for the USB devices and such?
Perhaps I identified the wrong thing, but the only thing I recall
getting installed last night was linux-firmware.

And I am NOT going to reinstall that piece of shit because I can't even
get online with it installed and I only have one box. Are you freakin'

Who in their right mind re-installs BROKEN software after spending SEVEN
HOURS recovering from it?

linux-firmware breaks support for Lenovo Z580

Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
The latest update (2015.11.06) for Ubuntu 15.10 linux-firmware breaks
support for the Lenovo Z580 laptop. USB devices stop being recognized
and the network card/chipset cease functioning, preventing you from
getting online. I've had to reinstall Ubuntu 15.04 in order to get
back to a working state, and will no longer consider upgrading to
15.10 again until I am forced to do so by the 15.04 EOL.
