Re: [Bug 1513930] Re: linux-firmware breaks support for Lenovo Z580

There may have been a linux-kernel-generic install as well. That could
be responsible if not linux-firmware.

But there were only two updates delivered last night, so it has to be
one of the two.

Title:
linux-firmware breaks support for Lenovo Z580

Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The latest update (2015.11.06) for Ubuntu 15.10 linux-firmware breaks
support for the Lenovo Z580 laptop. USB devices stop being recognized
and the network card/chipset cease functioning, preventing you from
getting online. I've had to reinstall Ubuntu 15.04 in order to get
back to a working state, and will no longer consider upgrading to
15.10 again until I am forced to do so by the 15.04 EOL.
