[Bug 1171957] Re: kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.5.0/fs/buffer.c:3199!; RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff811b33d6>] [<ffffffff811b33d6>] free_buffer_head+0x46/0x50
Gerben, as per http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX/#support an update is available for your BIOS (1604). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and just provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Thank you for your understanding.
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Status: Confirmed => Incomplete

Hi,
A kernel bug was shown to me on the monitor, the system continued running.
The problem was shown in a process running a KVM client, the client started resetting a device (windows client: 129: Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort1, was issued.)
