[Bug 1295998] Re: linux-generic (and dependencies) is not automatically installed

 

Okay, i was not able to reproduce the problem in an VM - maybe i
downloaded updates right while the installation.

I added a list of original installed linux packages via

sudo apt-cache showpkg ^linux* > linux_packages.txt

maybe this helps.

Updates come in correct and also kernel updates, so i was a specific
problem of my machine...

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I installed 2 machine with Trusty.

  Athlon X2 64:
  Installation on a different partition than 13.10, no linux-generic package

  Phenom II X4:
  Through installation i formated all partitions, no linux-generic package.

  My Notebook with 32 bit Edubuntu has it installed.
