Antoine Smith Dryden Dymond, thank you for your comment. So your hardware and problem may be tracked, could you please file a new report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal while booted into a Ubuntu repository kernel (not a mainline one) via:
ubuntu-bug linux

  Hi,

  Since the upgrade to 14.04 yesterday, I can't access my camera
  (FujiFilm FinePix S1600) anymore. This is what is logged into
  /var/log/syslog when I plug the camera in the usb port:

  But there is no icon in the Nautilus to open the camera and copy the
  images.

  When I remove the usb cable, this shows in syslog:

  Please help.
