Re: [Bug 1289756] Re: [System manufacturer System Product Name] suspend/resume failure

Hi Joseph

Still can't get Suspend / Resume to work.

Today I removed my SSD and installed an empty SATA 160 Gig HD in it's
place.

Did a complete install of AMD 64 bit version of 14.04 and applied all
outstanding updates including linux-image-3.13.0.24-generic

Rebooted and got the same error message - was invited to submit bug report
which I did a few minutes ago.

Have you any idea if others are suffering from this problem - or do you
think it is something to do with my hardware ?

Cheers

Phil

Title:
[System manufacturer System Product Name] suspend/resume failure

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hi,

I've carried out an upstream-kernel-test as requested by Joseph
Sailsbury - unfortunately I still get the same result.

I've checked the last working kernel version number and it was
3.8.0-32 and not 3.13.08 as I originally mentioned below.

  Thanks

  Phil

PC has a quad core motherboard - suspend / resume still works o.k. when an old kernel image [3.13.08 ?] is loaded.

Just repalced SSD SATA drive with a temporary empty USB drive to
conduct tests - loaded 14.04 [AMD 64 bit] - applied all outstanding
  updates including 3.13.0-16 kernel.

Still fails to suspend / resume correctly - has done on the last few
kernel releases - no error messages during suspend - the subsequent
resume does not work [PC does not even get as far as displaying the
ASUS spash screen - have to power off / on to continue with a normal
  full load.
