Please take a look at our bug tracker / feature tracker on the 
sourceforge.net project page. You can filter for category==pcbnew, which 
shows around 10 open bugs, some of which should be easy to fix (ideal to 
get started). Same goes for feature requests.

If you get ambitous, undo/redo in pcbnew is very high on many ppls 
wishlists :-)

What is the status on removing XOR redraw artifacts in pcbnew? Is the 
redrawing clean already? Otherwise, it should go in the bugtracker also.
