I don't know how to solve the "I deleted the wrong thing" issue. Even
limiting objects deleted to the selected tool can still result in
deleting the wrong thing of a given type. I was under the impression
that the user was trying to delete a trace and a nearby footprint was
deleted rather than the trace. That shouldn't happen without a
disambiguation menu. If it is happening, we need to know about it so we
can fix it. If the user actually hit the delete key when only a
component was underneath the cursor, I'm at loss on how to solve that
problem. Getting rid of the delete hot key is not a workable solution.
I guess we could add a disable all hot keys for users who can't seem to
deal with them. This way they could only use the context menu or the
delete tool to delete objects. That seems like a lot of effort for such
a small net gain.

This user need to get their eyes or eyeglass prescription checked. :)
