Well. Some people appreciate KiCad for its flexibility in libraries. Always, using CvPcb they can assign a footprint which they want.Unfortunately for me, this flexibility is not so good. In the case of discrete elements: yes, but in the case of integrated circuits is the
first step in making mistakes.I prefer the method: take the right symbol and forget. In addition, when I'm generating BOM list I have at a glance exactly which elements have to be on board and I have less to do during its post processing.
In my point of view, such a high level of flexibility is good for hobbyists. But we don't want KiCad only as a niche software for hobbyists?
