I still don't understand at all how this specific part works.  If
bzr-builder supports cross recipe references today, it doesn't document
them.

That seems pretty gross.

Yes, I think so.

DistroSeriesSourcePackage seems ok to me.  Maaybe user +
DistroSeriesSourcePackage?
