"Fairly soon" would not be "fairly soon" in any definition of the
expression. It's going to take multiple steps to get this fixed in any
maintainable way.

That's with global suggestions disabled. They usually make the biggest
hit, and we've only re-enabled them today. So far, it seems good (I
don't see them appear in lpnet OOPS report for today among either hard
or soft timeouts, but that's not a good indication yet).
To get a true feel of the performance, we probably need to wait for a
full daily run for tomorrow.
FWIW, my gut feeling is that we can't cope with 5s timeout on POFile:
+translate page before we restructure it completely.
