For the past few days I've been trying to surmise my thoughts as a
user (not a developer) :-

a. Have a wiki and not just a wiki, something which can be edited
section-wise rather than editing the whole page at once. Something
like what is implemented in wikipedia. For first time users as well as
little experienced people, its easy to get into the gist of things and
they don't have to worry too much about making mistakes making them
and the whole ecosystem productive.

b. Also have a way of showing versioning to the users. Its there but
no so obvious.

c. Have something similar like barnstars and such to reward users
editing/writing on the wikis.

d. Show many people are having issues with a particular bug :- I know
there's a me too button but it doesn't tell how many people are
affected by it. It should show how many people are affected by a bug.
A good way is perhaps how google code shows it.Just as an e.g.
http://code.google.com/p/omaha/issues/detail?id=1
