Re: FOR YOUR ATTENTION: Virtual Connect - closing out cards
Hmm
I guess that the attached thread is somehow forgotten by some?
In my understanding the current cycle ends on the 10th of August. The
next cycle goes from 20 August to the next face to face Connect. The
period between 10 and 20 August is when we would do a "virtual connect"
- ie discuss over the items to complete during the period up to the next
face to face Connect.
What this means in terms of the roadmap is we should have the Q2 cards
completing within the period till 10 August.
Are there any of these cards which are at risk of not being ready by
then? Which ones?
Thanks,
Ilias

I don't really think there's anything that prevents us from doing a
"Virtual Connect" if we are prepared to be somewhat flexible about the
definition. It would be an interesting experiment and certainly avoids
us doing no checkpoint summit for such a long time.

There's also nothing that stops us from doing smaller sprints even if we
/do/ run a virtual connect, though. And to your point about cross-team
work, there's no reason why the sprint needs to be done along team
boundaries - in fact, the most important thing for the sprint is to have
a clear purpose and outcome.

Off-topic, but an appropriate question.
Actually, the next quarter will be roughly 3 months long again, and
we'll end the quarter in a "virtual Connect" where we will review
close-outs and do design and planning work for Q4. We haven't set dates
for that virtual Connect yet, but we should.
So the next Connect is week of May 28th. The Q4 Connect is during the
last week of October.
How does week of August 13 sound for the Q3VC?

Guess it'll all depend on the content and areas we're planning to
cover during Q4. Ideally if we set up a continuous review and planning
work, it might not be that hard to do it, as we'd just assign the
cards and work on them once we start Q4.
Now, if we're unable to have a proper backlog in place, it'll be quite
hard and time consuming to get the "remote" sessions going.
