For a project maintained by only one man who is very busy at work as a
medical doctor of internal medicine, three weeks is very reasonable
when this man work on this project totally for free.
Nautilus and gnome are developed by developers paid by Redhat on
full-time basis, how good did they do their job? They have much more
bugs which left unfixed for several years. You can consider donation
to me or send a patch to speed up the development.
If you don't, I'll still fix this sooner or later, but everything
takes time. So be patient.

Everybody knows, but has anyone contributed a single patch for it?
Besides, for your information, the trash can is already fixed in git.
