Remeber that there's a graphic limitation (sigh) on the panel. You
cannot use a fancy rounded panel or anything alse that use a 1280px
panel, for example. You only can use a "piece" of panel with the same
begin and end, I mean, an equal cilinder. Because any applet or button
in the panel redraws again and again the bitmap.

But you can set a color with alpha, it worked for me.
