I asked persia about that in #ubuntu-motu and no, Ubuntu does not use
live-helper. Debian-live does, I think, but not Ubuntu.

I wish Ubuntu did, actually -- I already have live-helper-based Lubuntu
LiveCD creation working, and those ISOs boot in virtualbox for me, which
the ones created from Julien's process do not (yet!).

However, I did achieve my goal last night -- I have a hands-off scripted
process for "Julien's way" of creating Lubuntu ISOs. It creates ISOs.

Now I "just" need to solve the virtualbox boot problem (updating the
livecd image contents, probably) and deal more elegantly with the md5sum
stuff, and I'll (hopefully) have something worth running daily or weekly
to publish Lubuntu Desktop ISOs (both i386 and amd64) to the world :)
