Re: Ubuntu IRC Council

Phill,

I think I can undo my last vote and vote for staying under freenode.

The reason for the change in mind is because I am not finding answers for
some questions.

I would like to get some answers if they are there.

1) Why was the "invited lubuntu OP" kicked out of Ubuntu -op channel?
2) In some of the lines, they are kinda forcing people to step down. "the
main attractive line is "

We're not hijacking a project. The project is asking to be managed by
the IRC team, so they have to play by our rules.

If they don't want to, they can feel free to not be a core channel."

So, they are not trying to help the project and they just want the lubuntu
team to surrender?
3)Why are they not even taking us on probation, though they can revert
whatever we do. And also, When one is interested in serving for community
and stay, how will he/she be doing bad stuff? Especially to the council at
the time of probation?
4) Do we ask for a shortcut to become ubuntu -ops?? We are already
maintaining the channel, where we opped -ops even before they know our
existence.
And the comment we got on our back is "

because some people want to skip the application process wholesale
from my undertanding"

5) Also, they are questioning that we are not the real lubuntu team and we
have self chosen to be here.
6) They also mentioned that the channel is inactive. I think there is no
need for me to prove its activeness.

The above stated points made me revert my vote to stay with freenode.

I think you will re-consider my vote.
