12.04 ppc - problems list

So, i'll list here what i found up to now among problems and bugs in
Lubuntu 12.04 ppc. My computer is a PB G4 17", 2003, 2 gig memory.

1) Lubuntu Software Center crashes - reported as bug

2) Gdebi-gtk crashes (but curiously installs nevertheless ?!?!) -
reported as bug

3) pcmanfm crashes often while installing a 2nd instance of it - reported as bug

4) Language packages for firefox are wrong version - reported as bug

5) Exaile does not recognize an ipod (*ANY* ipod - tried 3 different
models). But Exaile on Debian "sid" + LXDE (same kernel as Lubuntu
12.04) does flawlessly!
(To check if it was probably an error of the Ubuntu package of Exaile
i purged Exaile and installed it newly of the debian packages, but
nothing changed. So, this error very likely is not inherent to the
Exaile package).

6) On log out, i'm getting to a totally messed up screen. Normally
there should be a readable (console like) screen telling me, what
happens during logout. With Lubuntu 12.04 this screen is not readable
absolutely although the shutdown/reboot passes through.

7) The fan speed problem: May be i found a way to mitigate it a bit by
installing powernowd (from debian packages - it is not among the
Ubuntu packages). But there should be a better way to control (lower
the speed - by default in Lubuntu 12.04 ppc after some minutes the fan
is working at full speed constantly creating an unsupportable noise).
I checked in `/var/log/syslog`and i saw this:

What does that mean exactly? On one hand "therm_adt746x" is deprecated
on the other hand "ADT7460 is initialized . . . (?)

I remember, i read some time ago somewhere a suggestion to not use
this module but to control the fan speed by pbbuttonsd which is
installed by default in Lubuntu 12.04. Now, i didn't see there an
option to do that, but may be i've overseen something (?). Moreover, a
suggestion: Wouldn't it be a good idea to put powerprefs (the
graphical interface to pbbuttonsd) into the standard installation. In
this moment, powerprefs is not even in the Ubuntu repositories (i
installed it from the Debian packages).

In any case: the fan in Debian+LXDE is working in a very acceptable
and decent way - and the computer isn't going to heat too much (the
same goes for MintPPC. Lubuntu ppc should behave in the same way by
default!).

8) Opening the firefox download list, wicd, blueman, gdebi ecc. ecc.
in fullscreen mode by default, on any screen with more than 1024x600
ist ridiculous. I'd really wish to have at least the option to turn
that "feature" off ;-)

9) I do not understand, why the xfce powermanagment applet does not
appear automatically in the panel (it does so in Debian). In Lubuntu
i've to add it by hand to an application starter field

10) VLC is uninstallable because of some incorrect dependencies (it is
without any problem in Debian).

Something positive: In Lubuntu wicd works correctly with scripts, in
Debian "sid" i have to deal "by hand" with the scripts being unable to
use the gui interface to them. The udev rules seem to work correctly .
