Oh yes, this is a real bug with real consequences. It might be
interesting to see whether it can be "fixed" by installing lots of
GNOME libraries into the Lubuntu LiveCD environment before running
ubiquity -- I am thinking the issue may be that some library used in
some aspect of how ubiquity handles its drop down lists is missing in
Lubuntu, but present in the other LiveCD-based flavours of Ubuntu?
At least there is a viable workaround for most people -- use the
Alternate CD image to install from :)
