I feel your pain and I wish I had an answer :^(

I work almost exclusively with desktop computers but even with the very few laptops and netbooks I've fiddled with I've not seen this behavior.

I remember way back in Ubuntu Karmic having some "shut-down" problems that ended up being kernel related so I just skipped from Jaunty to Lucid.

I know that Phill knows about this because he tried to help me back then, I just can't believe that I would be the only one that uses the reboot option, and has noticed this. I know Linda Lubu, had the same problem with a netbook that she had from a client. It is just strange that it does not do it on the desktops with the same installs. any ways, I don't know how to go any further with the problem so I just learn to ignore it, but I know as testers that is not a good answer.

Hi Lance, yes I have done that with all my laptop and netbook and I get the same results. It only happens on the Lubuntu side and not the Ubuntu. Again In case I did not mention it this does not happen at all on any of the desktops.

I've not seen that behavior on any of my hardware but I use only i386 which I've found to be quite stable.

the problem is that on my Acer netbook and my laptops Lubuntu will not reboot when you go to the shutdown screen and click on reboot. the computer goes through the moves but it will hang on the final Lubuntu screen and will not shut down to start the reboot. I have shut gotten used to shutting down and restarting thinking that it will get fixed through a update. But as I'm testing Lubuntu 13.04 is doing the same thing, by the way this does not happen in Lubuntu 12.04, and it does not happen in Ubuntu 12.10,13.04 beta. any thoughts?






Again if this is a bug I don't know if it's posted, I need help with that.
