Re: PPC - installed gnome alongside lubuntu, broke login

I think this is true. I know the first time I got a working ubuntustudio ppc (which is what I'm after) I installed every desktop I could find along with the warned-about compiz config tool (exact name escapes me) and the whole thing got messed up. I couldn't even login. I like the Lubuntu option to login automatically since, at least for testing, just in case I can't use the login screen. I'm primarily installing on a G4 mac mini ppc although I have an eMac G4 (CD-ROM install only although now that I've been editing yaboot.conf there must be a way to get it USB accessable)) plus an older G3 iBook I want to start running these tests on. Lubuntu is the best base install for my G4 mac mini - I think primarily because of my Radeon 9200 ATI graphics card and the default openbox desktop. The Ubuntu raring test Live CD would not boot GUI with any of the live video=radeonfb:1024x768-32@60 and similar boot parameters I know. With the base Lubuntu install and 13.04 Ubuntu test dvd in the tray I installed taskel and ran it to get most everything I wanted installed (ubuntustudio mythtv and desktops). It's still booting beautifully as "Lubuntu 13.04" in openbox. I'm actually learning Backuppc command-line to get it backed up before breaking anything to test further, but I think the desktops are the issue for my ppc.

It says it's logging in like it should, and then just doesn't. It doesn't freeze up, though, I can try again, and it won't work again.
