Re: Prepping for the last upgrade test
It seems that this is going to take some time to resolve :^)
We always mention in the release notes that "this is an alpha so expect bugs".
ATM I sort of think this time we should say something like:
"Due to recent kernel and xorg changes we know that the alpha 2 images are finicky (could use the word "problematic") with some hardware. We're continuing to look into this issue, but if you can't boot the live image to a working DE we recommend not installing this alpha 2 image".
That's a rough draft.
What do you all think?

I'm glad you can install the server Lance.
I guess you mean that it works in your VIA computer. One more thing that
works :-)
And yes, we might have different problems. Phill and I might also have
different problems ... or two or three of us have the same problem.
Could it be that some package comes as a different version from the iso
compared to via the network? So that we share the problem with Lars? I
think this is the case with the kernel (which makes a difference with
zRAM). Could there be some other package too?
