For *ubuntu, I modified:
./ubuntu-installer/i386/linux
./ubuntu-installer/i386/boot-screens/txt.cfg
to include "forcepae" and could see the change in the menu items in the
Installer Boot Screen. What finally worked was to use the Advanced
options -> Command-line expert install. Somehow that got the right
kernel.
I'll look more at the other distros, too, but my initial run-in with
Puppy is that it does not have a generic netboot installer. It looks
like one must first install puppy on real hardware. I tried in a VM
first but it could not get past the graphics.
But for the most part things are solved unless the wiki needs tweaking.
