Hi Mélodie and Walter,

I am running an old system as my production system. It was created as
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, and has been upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Ubuntu
12.04 LTS. It is also ported from a desktop computer with Athlon 4400+
to an HP workstation with dual two-core Xeon processors.

I found that playing HD video (1920x1080-50p) from my video camera was
too slow for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS so I installed lubuntu-desktop, and when
it passed end of life xubuntu-desktop and because it passes end of life
soon, I have installed kansasnoob's Precise Gnome Classic Tweaks and run
it now. I use k3b and digikam, so I installed kubuntu-desktop too. And
it works for me. The menu lists are kind of crowded, but I start most
programs from terminal windows anyway.

Best regards
Nio
