[Bug 1797540] Re: Restrict length of page description field

Currently, the description field is a full text field where you can use
formatting and also add images. This is due to historical reasons
because before we had flexible page layouts, people used the description
field to add a top banner to their page.

Making changes to the description and for example restricting the number
of characters as well as removing formatting options would need to be
considered carefully.

You can make a change on your own instance or at minimum add a help
language string below the text box if you'd like to advise your learners
not to put too much text in that box.

Title:
Restrict length of page description field

Status in Mahara:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Currently, users can have no restrictions on the amount of informaton
they can add to the Page Description field of the Page settings.

This means that when users attempt to export this page
(https://demo.mahara.org/export/index.php) and select the export 'only
a few pages' option, the page description is visible and takes over
the whole export page. Please see screenshot attached.

It would be great if there could a character restriction to limit the
amount of text that can be added or add some text underneath the Page
Description field to advise users to keep the description brief.
