I have added it to the source built and pushed it.
If the newest build is green, I will push the tag.

Note that tagging the repository can be done any time. (even after the
release is done). What was missing was updating the 'configure.in' to
5.2.7 so that mysqld --version would report 5.2.7;  This needs to be
done before release.
