hahaaah, you are misunderstanding each other ;)
alex is referring to the lucid volume indicator with its menu item "Mute All".
i consider this unintuitive.
a simple drag would do the trick..
+intuitive (no reading of text menu items, just gesture and immediate feedback)
+faster (doesn't depend on indirect scrolling or precision mouse usage)
