Howdy,
  OK, Is there going to be some easy way to turn off the global menu?
It is already clear to me that I would never want to use it.  I can
adapt to many of the features of Unity, but the global menu is such a
poor idea that I would love to be able to turn it off.  For now, I
have switched to the Classic desktop, but I would continue with Unity
if I could turn off global menus.
