[Bug 555841] [NEW] LG GH22 SATA drive not working

Public bug reported:

Hi,

I own a ASUS P3-P5G43 box running Mythbuntu 9.10 amd64 with kernel
2.6.33-rc4. I have recently replaced a damaged ATA DVD drive with a LG
GH22 SATA unit and found it is not detected by the OS. When I set SATA
mode BIOS option to "compatible" instead of "enhanced", the unit is
detected. Then I can browse DVD files but cannot open them.

I'm attaching dmesg output. The final lines show the errors issued when
trying to open a file. No errors seem to be issued otherwise.

Regards
Antonio
