[Bug 594613] [NEW] 10.04: /etc/x11/xorg.conf deleted after reboot

Public bug reported:

Dear Team,

after upgrading from 9.04 to 10.04 (fresh installation) on a very stable system using an Intel 160 GB SSD as
operating system drive I noticed:

  /etc/X11/xorg.conf

is missing after every second or third reboot.

I need xorg.conf to use with NVIDIA drivers to use VDPAU. Without the file the system boots into low-graphics
mode and will not play TV or recordings.

This happened more than 10 times on a single day.

My workaround was to remove write rights on xorg.conf and /etc/X11 for
everyone. Since then its fine.
