[Bug 715376] [NEW] lirc upgrades stomp on configuration files
Public bug reported:
Mythbuntu seems to be doing everything in its power to stomp on my custom /etc/lirc configuration files at every possible opportunity. Whenever I run Mythbuntu control center, it insists on writing new configuration files, which are completely incorrect (lircd gets turned off, wrong transmitter---basically all the new settings are garbage). Similarly, every time I do a significant system upgrade, the updated packages (presumably the lirc package) stomp on them again.
I've resorted to just keeping a backup copy of the entire /etc/irc
directory and "cp -r"-ing the thing every time it does this, but that's
obnoxious. Config files should be sacrosanct, and doubly so for one
that's as hard to get working correctly as the lircd config files are!
Configuration is 10.04.
** Affects: mythbuntu
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
