Binary package hint: lirc

With a fresh install of natty my mceusb device has stopped working
completely. In previous versions of ubuntu I had to install lirc to make
it work but now with or without lirc there is nothing. I have followed
suggestions in this post:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9984844&postcount=4 but they have
not worked. When I run irw I get no responses from the remote using
option 1 or 2. This has caused XBMC to not being able to use a MCE
remote at all, but this is NOT an XBMC problem.
