Ian is a Canonical employee (he works on the bzr team, and does a lot of
performance auditing, etc.), and, as a highly distributed company, this is
the exact way we work. It's amazing the sheer velocity we're able to
accomplish like this, and Ian's paper is based a lot on our workflows. I
think that even if you don't agree with the concepts, you should try them out.
They sound rather fishy until you try them. In most cases, I think they'll
work out, and in those other cases, you've at least performed the "experiment"
in Agile terms, and you know it doesn't work.
