Re: Inactive modules in v7 Community branches
Hello,
Apps will help you be aware that the module existed on a previous version and was not upgraded.
I'm in favor of the .inactive, but it has to be documented.
Regards,

Hi,
Just want to raise a point here. If we did it like this, the main reason I remember was to be able to actually BE AWARE of the existing module (even if not ported).
The risk of doing so is that people may be tempted to code a new module that may have existed on previous version just because he hasn't check the .inactive folder... Setting them as installable =False has the advantage of let people know about it...
Any other though here ?

More over it will be easier to see really quickly which module are ported or not on launchpad.
No more need to look in every __openerp__.py file to check if the module is active or not, just look in the folder '.inactive'

Hi all,
I'm finding very annoying having all these directories with inactive v6 modules, waiting to be ported.
I'm aware that this was decided so, for the sake of history keeping, and I even agreed with the decision at the time.
But I'd llike to propose an improvemente on the way to deal with these modules:
Create a ".inactive" directory and "bzr mv" the modules into it.
This will remove the cluttrr from the bracnh root but still keep their history.
If/when they are ported, they can again be "bzr mv" to the root.
Regards
Daniel Reis
