There is one reason: * Running the Pyro protocol as a module means that the module has to be loaded for the protocol to be available. So, until you run OpenERP with the "-d <database>" argument to select a database that already has the Pyro module installed (or log-in using NetRPC or XML-RPC to such database), Pyro won't be available.
