update: i've had the same problem. the issue was a functional char field
that displayed the same contend. when the content became to long it
wasn't possible anymore to save that stuff.

  [6.0RC2] text field modification

Bug description:
  Try to modify notes in purchase order :
  make a new order, write 3 lines in notes, save

  add two lines in notes, try to save and the 2 new lines disappear.

  Add another text field, same result (once created, no way to modify
  it)
