I just activated the LinkedIn  social network integration (settings >
config > sales).

I followed the steps to activate and was successful.

the problem arises when you update a company via LinkedIn. if there
contacts prior to updating, these contacts will be UNLINKED from the
customer/partner.

IMHO updating via linked in should not remove existing contacts  within
partners/customer/supplier
