I think this is because in the background, track objects are passed to
MLT (which processes the videos). Even when previewing a clip, a
structure based on tracks is processed by MLT. For a preview, Openshot
would pass 1 track object into MLT, in this case it is what you see as
Track 1 on the timeline.

  Audio is muted on video previews, when track 1 is muted

  New

Bug description:
  I was trying to preview videos had the audio on track 1 muted.  This
  appears to affect the audio on previews too.

  I spent a long time trying to see if I had the correct codecs
  installed, only to realise that track 1 was muted which was affecting
  my previews.

  I am unlikely to get caught again by this problem but it was not
  obvious for why I could hear no audio.
