Werner, thanks for the email! Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not sure if I
understand what you are asking. The source of OpenShot is available via
LaunchPad ($ bzr branch lp:openshot ~/openshot/). However, the more
difficult issue, OpenShot has many dependencies which can be quite tricky to
setup correctly, including MLT and FFmpeg.
OpenShot itself is written in Python, and doesn't need to be compiled. But
the dependencies, of course need to be compiled.
We have .DEB installers and our build wizard available at
http://www.openshotvideo.com/2008/04/download.html. Our source code is
available via bzr (mentioned above).
I hope this is everything you need to get started.
