The first thing to try is the new updated PPA.

First of all remove your current Openshot install and then remove the
PPA from your software sources.

Then try the new Karmic specific PPA described here:

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New

Bug description:
Hi jusst to geve feedback.
I have been using bad old videochip Intel GM 82852 (known to be problematic) built in my notebook.

on Karmic+OpenShot 0.9.43 built from the last PPA.  The app exits without any error upon every attempt to run a clip.

Seems to be the video driver more than your app, but i would appreciate any advice.
