Basically the Openshot from the bleeding edge PPA requires libmlt++2
which requires a version of python-support that is not available on
Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty.

It's mentioned that its for both Karmic and suggested non-Karmic
versions on:

https://launchpad.net/~jonoomph/+archive/openshot-edge

Where it says sthat if you are not using Karmic then its suggested you
can still use it.
