Re: [Bug 573792] Re: Openshot crashes with Segmentation Fault at startup under Lucid
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 580130 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580130
Sorry, I looked over the fact, that you are replying to my original
thread.
My bug is turned out to be a duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580130 and we are discussing the matter
there.
It turned out that the problem is somehow caused by the libcairo2
package, more specifically the versions greater than 1.8.10-2ubuntu1
(which is the official package that comes from the ubuntu repo). So if
you somehow (through a PPA or other source) have a newer version, you
should force ubuntu to use the original version, and OpenShot should
start without problems after that.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Confirmed
Bug description:
I'm upgraded to Lucid and when trying to start Openshot it gives me the following error:
openshot
--------------------------------
OpenShot (version 1.1.3)
--------------------------------
Process no longer exists: 18016. Creating new pid lock file.
A new frmMain has been created
Szegmentálási hiba
(The last line is in hungarian. It means: Segmentation Fault)
I've tryed removing openshot with all of it's dependencies (including melt and the python bindings), even with --purge. I've deleted all associated folders, then reinstalled Openshot 1.1.3 from the experimental PPA, but the problem still persists. In the openshot.debug file it says I have no _mlt.so, but I have melt intallaed and there are no dependency problems on the system.
Openshot.debug is attached to this post.
