Olivier, thanks for the feedback.  Here are the resolutions for the issues
we have found so far:

Video:
-----------
REMOVED - deinterlace - seg faults on MLT 0.5.4 & 0.5.6. Works fine on MLT
0.5.10, but Ubuntu does not have that version yet.
REMOVED - frei0r.scanline0r - seg faults
REMOVED - wave - seems broken on MLT 0.5.4 & 0.5.6
REMOVED - BurningTV - only black screen, seems broken on MLT 0.5.4 & 0.5.6

Audio:
-----------
FIXED - bass - not changing the sound
FIXED - treble - not changing the sound
FIXED - echo: usage: gain-in gain-out delay decay [ delay decay ... ]
FIXED - phaser: parameter `decay' must be between 0 and 0.99
REMOVED - pitch: usage: [-q] shift-in-cents [segment-ms [search-ms
[overlap-ms]]].  The pitch effect seemed completely broken.

I tested the Chroma Key effect on different languages and different
computers, and never got a black screen.  It seems to work just fine on MLT
0.5.4 and 0.5.6, which are the main versions used by Ubuntu.  Also, MLT
0.5.10 will not work with the version of Sox that Ubuntu 10.10 uses.  So, to
upgrade to MLT 0.5.10, we also need to upgrade the version of Sox.

I have not been able to re-produce the Blender particle effect text video we
found on YouTube.  To create that effect, it requires converting the text
curve object into a mesh (with vertices), and I never could figure that out
with the Python API.  That will have to wait until another day. =)

Please get the latest version, and give it one more run through for bugs.
 That's what I'm going to focus on the rest of today.
