If you are using the 1.1.3 you should install the package called frei0r-plugins that we have forgotten in the dependencies, that could explain that. 
What is your version of Openshot ? 1.1.3 or 1.2.2 ? 
If you have the 1.2.2. you should update the version of  mlt (ie to 0.5.4 at 0.5.10 )
