Travis, can you attach a video or screenshot of issue.  I think this is
related to the size of icons & text in your gnome theme. Can you try
switching your gnome theme to a different theme, and see if OpenShot
behaves any differently?  Thanks!

Bug description:
When adjusting the timeline scale, the timeline marker should always be visible. This is especially a problem when zooming in.
