Hi Cenwen!
Thanks for the quick response!
ETA is a TLA (3 letter acronym) for "estimated time of arrival".
And now it's my turn... and as an interested user I'm inclined to think
"This is broke...Just Make It Work."
I have no idea what MLT is and the URL (yet another TLA -- yikes!) you
have linked in doesn't make any mention of Fedora.
I goto here -> http://www.openshot.org/download/ and in the "Download
Installer" section the are two drop downs allowing me to "choose a
version" "Select CPU [64 bit]" Select OS [Fedora 13] and then what is
exposed is "64 bit / Fedora 13" where I can either choose the RPM Source
or the RPM Installer I choose the RPM Installer. I chose Fedora 13 as
the OS because it's the most recent choice I have. It goes away and then
returns a while later complaining about it needing Python 2.6 -- So as
far as I'm concerned as a user -- it' coming from your website.
Digging a little deeper, I see that the installer is downloading from
some place called killobyte.com
but when I go there all I see is a link to how to make an FBI Badge. !!
It seems to me you guys would want your app to run on Fedora and that it
be available from a more (at least) professional (responsible?)
"looking" repository.
I had this thing working quite nicely on Fedora v12. RH and (so Fedora)
are the industry standards. From a business point of view it seems more
logical to code for them first and then worry about making it work on
the toys (Ubuntu and Debian, etc) later on. But that's just me -- and I
get a little miffed when what works just fine stops working after
improvements are made. When this app does work again i'll go back to
being-out-there-somewhere and stop kevetching... and I'll gladly send
you a "dependencies listing if you give me a clue on how to generate one"
And then there's this back load backing up...

Title:
open fails after linux upgrade
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
New
Bug description:
I've upgraded my system to fedora 14 (from 12) and now open shot does not open.
I tried download and install openshot 1.3 -- you have no Fedora 14 OS selection -- so I downloaded the version for fedora 13 anyway. the installer says that python 2.6 is required -- python 2.7 is now the default version. HELP!
do you have an ETA for a Fedora 14 version that installs with python 2.7? -- to jsmeade@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
if not -- what do I do to get it to resume working?
Thank you
