Hi,
Take a look here : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=758 and here too but I have just seen that this is just the only part of the manual in German which is not translate :=)
You must have all this dependencies installed.

  Using Synaptic or DEB-packages to install.
  OpenShot 1.3.1 installed today (7.7.2011)
  Now i see point 4) [attach openshot.debug] - i will if i find the path...
